A NEW HOPE FOR HIPPO!

Big Fat Hippo, as he's fondly known at the Centre, was the first toy we rescued and he inspired us to set up SPOT (Society for the Protection of Toys) and open our Toy Rescue Centre in the beautiful Scottish town of Finechty.

Hippo was in a terrible state when we rescued him and the first thing we did was give him a number of long hot baths to stop the horrific smell. It was obviously the first time he had ever seen water but, as you can see from the photo, he loved it!

Once Hippo was clean and dry we could see that we had a beautiful toy full of love and fun. That night we sat up for hours talking about Hippo and all the other neglected toys who needed our help. We were happy to adopt Hippo but realised that it was impossible for us to adopt all the unhappy toys in the world and that's why we set up Toy Rescue.
